Maia 7-9 months

Life has gotten so busy it is has been hard to update this more often :)  I just laughed to myself reading the last blog..."I won't take 3 months to update this next time" :)

 7-9 months~November 1-January 1

She has accomplished so many little milestones and is constantly learning new little skills.  It is so amazing to watch her grow and see the world through her eyes.

Since it was the holiday season, Maia got "out and about" more often.   She was going through her stranger danger phase during this time and didn't want to be held by anybody other than me or Josh.  This was a rare picture of her with mom and she's not crying :)

Maia's cousin Mikey likes to play with her excited when they get to hang out together.  He wants to do what she's doing and she likes interacting with him and is interested in his hair-she is always trying to reach out and touch it.

She loves blocks and objects she can pick up fairly easily

She finally got a letter from the White house *we sent a birth
announcement last summer*

The closer we got to December, her stranger danger phase started to go away a little bit, as seen here with my mom.
She also got some opportunities to go shopping with the "girls"
We had fun dressing her up for Thanksgiving in her Turkey pjs and dress.  Even to this day she still fits these pjs and they are one of the easier ones to put her in at night.   And I LOVE the little turkeys on her feet :)

Josh pureed most of the food we were having at Thanksgiving: turkey, mashed potatoes, etc and she got to eat it too.  It was also her first taste of meat.  She loved the Turkey and later had her first turkey coma.

She still loves to take her baths :)

December 8 months
8 months old!   In December she was starting to get very wiggly and squirmy. She started rocking on all fours and we know crawling is right around the corner but she hasn't taken off yet.  However, by scooting along on her tummy or by rolling around she moves around quite a bit.

In mid-December my parents and I took Maia and her cousin Mikey to Christmas Tree lane in Ceres, Ca.   Maia is wearing her Uncle Josh's snow suit that barely fit her :)

My mom and Mikey at Christmas Tree lane

Mikey and Maia enjoyed playing blocks together after their adventure at Christmas tree lane, which included all of us getting stuck in the mud, (strollers too),  Notice my jeans rolled up :0/

She seems to do this pose alot in her sleep.

Waiting in line to see Santa.  She didn't smile for him :)
Maia's first Christmas gift to open from Grandma Judith. She loved tearing the paper and later sat in the box! :)

When taking a shower alone at home with her,she is content to sit in this little "chair"

Maia finally has enough hair to hold a clip!!!!!

January 2014 9 months old :)
9 months! January 1st, 2014

She has been getting so big!  These clothes are all 9 months and you can see that the pants are too small.  Her 12 month old jacket however fits fine, as do most of her 12 month clothes.

She loves her mat time.  She'll spread her toys all over the place loves putting things in the apple that is by her left hand.   This mat and her apple "bag" of toys accompany us on trips to other locations as well, like this picture above to grandma and grandpa's.

I love taking walks with Maia, especially since she is more aware
of what is going on around us.

She definitely has rolling down and will go all over the place during her mat time or tummy time on the ground.

More recently, when going through the mail, she likes to steal them away from me and rip every thing into the smallest pieces she can.

This jacket was mine.  Someone made it for me I believe.:)

One of her favorite foods right now is a mixture of homemade chicken stock, barley, and mixed vegetables that Josh makes for her.  The "super gruel", as he calls it is one of her favorites, and I've been known to sneak a couple of tastes-it is pretty yummy!

Maia also had her 9 month check up this month.   Her doctor is really great and had a baby on April 6, 2013, 5 days after Maia was born so it feels like he knows exactly how we feel :).  She was 18 1/2 pounds and 29 inches long at this appointment.  Everything looked good and she seems to be on track. Her next appointment is her 1 year appointment!
